Works For Me Wednesday--Keep Aldi Bags In Your Car

I keep my grocery bags and a quarter(for the shopping cart rental) in my car for when I shop at Aldi's.There have been far too many times that I had to break a twenty dollar bill to get a quarter for a cart! And equally as many times have I forgotten to bring bags until I am ready to check out with an overloaded grocery cart. Of course, at this time, there are no nice empty boxes to be found and there is just something about buying plastic grocery bags that doesn't sit well with me. (Especially when I have literally bags of them at home!) My assortment of Aldi bags include several canvas tote bags, some heavy duty paper bags and a pile of regualr Wal-Mart bags. I usually try to swipe a couple of the flat boxes while shopping to put my cans in. I keep the quarter in my cup holder so it's always right where I can find it! This definitely works for me.

hmmm. I've never heard of Aldi, but am assuming that it's one of those big warehouse places where you have to bag your own. This is a good tip, but how do you remember to put them back after you've used them?

Me too. I have several canvas bags, one old tote bag, one insulated bag, a collapsible crate, and an ice chest. Everything can fit into the insulated bag, since the soft sided ice chest collapses. By the time I get done with Sams, Aldi's and WallyWorld...they are all full, and since they have nice sturdy handles, they are much easier to haul into the house.

Knox loves to "buy a cart"...he is so intrigued by the chain and the red box.

Even though I shop at places that provide bags, I like taking my own because I can get a decent amount in some of my totes, which makes hauling them upstairs easier!

We don't have Aldis here but we have Hoffer which is the Austrian sister of Hoffer, we also keep bags in our car for when we go to Hoffer. Too bad Croaia doesn't have one.

Thanks for the tip.

I always, always forget my bags for Aldi and Netto and then I sigh as I pay away some of the savings I've made on plastic bags, of which I have a million at home! Doh! Blessings.
