In the spirit of decluttering, I spent a few minutes today editing my Google Reader subscriptions.
I love to read blogs so when I find one I think I like, it's so easy to subscribe! After a while, I end up with more than I can read and I find there are a few that I just don't enjoy as much anymore. And there is always at least one that is no longer valid; either the blogger has moved to a "new home" and I need to update or the blog is no longer around. When that happens, I go through and edit my subscriptions.
While I was at it, I also edited my blog list here and moved all the crafty, creative-type blogs to their own list over at The Gingham Cottage.
By the way, I really *love* reading blogs through a reader. Google Reader is my favorite so far. I like it a lot better than Bloglines. But both serve the same purpose. I love not having to go to each blog to look for an update. This saves me tons of time every day!

good for you! i need to do some decluttering on my site itself! i tried using bloglines but i really missed seeing the sidebars, pics and whatnot on the blog itself. so i still surf around the blogosphere =)
Gail,
Yeah, a drawback to using a reader is not seeing the site unless you click through. That doesn't bother me too much but some people really like looking at the site itself. The one drawback to using a reader for me is that I forget to leave comments! So I have to remind myself to click through to the site every so often so I can leave a comment.
I use Google Reader too and I love it. Although I do click through to see the 'pretties' on the blog. It still takes me time though because I don't have to check any blogs that haven't updated. (o:
Oops....I meant to say it 'saves' me time, not it 'takes' me time. (o:
A Quiet, Gracious Life,
I still click through to some blogs too and you're right. It doesn't take nearly as much time as clicking around looking for updates!
