Bubble Wrap Run

We are all about simple, free and low-tech fun around here! With the afternoon rains and/or heat lately, I've had to get creative to keep everyone productively busy when they can't go outside.

One can only watch so much Blue's Clues and Bob the Builder. (Or as Toddler Girl says, "Bubble Bill!" )

Toddler Girl(3) spotted a wad of bubble wrap in the office one day and asked to play with it. We taped it on the floor in the hallway so she could run up and down to her heart's content.

Toddler Boy(2) is a bit more tentative with bubble wrap so he hung around and watched for a while. He never did want to really run up and down on it but eventually drove the truck on it and seemed to prefer it that way.

To complete the theme, we also watched the Bubble Rap!
What do you do when it's too hot or rainy to go outside?:-)

Fun! I have bubble wrap hop scotch on my list to do. I am thankful that we have been blessed with fantastic weather. When we are inside play dough and playing trains top the list of things to do.

Oh, you are so creative Mary Ann! Those kids are sure blessed! :)

We have really been into puzzles lately. A new beloved hobby I've run into ~ got some fun ones off of ebay recently. The kids are catching the fun as well, and it's been fun to do together.

We also have lots of Lego time, play dough fun, reading library books together, and the kids are ecstatic when they get to paint. :)

That looks like fun. I am going to ask husband to watch for a big sheet of bubble wrap at his work. He does lots of ordering.
I think my older ones will like driving their bumper cars on bubble wrap.

When it is hot, we do crafts. They also love the iPad and kindle fire but I limit their time on those. R

Thankfully this summer has been much milder than the last 2 summers.

My grandson would love this! I can't resist popping bubble wrap myself. Next time he is here, we will jump on some!

One idea is to put a quilt on the floor with squares of different fabrics and pretend they are fields, gardens, woods, etc. and play with dinosaurs, cars and trucks, figurines on there.

Make "anything" from a cardboard box.

crafts, like painting rocks.

forts using blankets and quilts.

Oh, what sweet and simple fun! Such a neat idea! I'll have to remember that. I like all the other ideas here too. Reading books, coloring, and playing with blocks are great ways to pass the time too. :-)

What a fun idea! We do lots of coloring, play doh and painting when it's to hot (doesn't rain in AZ all that often)
