Settling In

We moved into our new home last weekend.

Every day finds us a little more settled and a few more boxes unpacked.

My sister came on Monday and helped me get the kitchen and living room up and running, including some things on the walls already. Her help was greatly appreciated!

We are loving our new quiet neighborhood. Most folks have lived here for many years and are very friendly. We attended a cookout across the street soon after we closed on the house which allowed us to meet a few of the neighbors. Several have stopped by to welcome us to the neighborhood and one even brought over a plate of cookies!

We are also enjoying the extra space we've acquired. While the house is not huge (1450 sq.ft.), it is much bigger than what we've lived in in all our married life and is laid out well with a large eat-in kitchen and roomy living room. Having 2 bathrooms is also a perk and it's especially nice to have an extra for the little ones and guests.

Our lot is just over a half acre and includes a large fully fenced backyard. Rock is enjoying it so much and the children will too. We hope to begin gardening soon and as we learn, little by little, hopefully we will be able to grow more of our own fruits and veggies.

We are so grateful to God for leading us through the house buying process. We could truly see His hand each step of the way! And we pray that this home will be a place of rest and peace for those He brings our way.

Oh Mary Ann, everything looks so beautiful and cozy! I love your last line, and I have no doubt that will be true!

When we moved into our new house a few months ago, we were tickled to have a new swing, just like the one in your backyard! Fun!

May the Lord bless your home and your family! *Proverbs 24:3-4*

Blessings to you!

I'm so excited for you, I have enjoyed reading your blog and the journey you have taken to get here. You and your husband are truly an inspiration for young couples on how to make the most from what God has provided for you. Looking forward to seeing you turn this house into a home.

Blessings,
Denise

It is just darling! That kitchen is beautiful!! I can imagine lots of goodies coming out of there.

Our yard is about the same size and I love it. Not to large but yet I don't feel like I am tripping over a neighbor all the time.

I am sure that anyone who enters your home will be blessed! Enjoy your new space. :)

Hey Mary Ann! It is so nice to see how well it is pulling together. I love the pop of color in your kitchen and the front room looks so cozy. I love that you were able to use that one shelf/cupboard from Andys family in your front room!! It is such a lovely piece of furniture. I won't recognize the place the next time I come over!! LOL
