"How do you clean all the wax out of candle holders and jars?"

Soak in hot water and then pick out with a knife if necessary.
ReplyDeleteI've heard that sticking them in the freezer for a while will do the trick! Making the wax shrink=easier removal, I guess.
ReplyDeleteDefinitely put in the freezer. Works great, I do it all the time. The wax will harden and you can pop it right out or even dig it out a little with a butter knife! Good luck!
ReplyDeleteI preheat the oven to 170 or so, and set the candlesticks and holders on a foil covered cookie sheet. Then I just use a paper towel to wipe out the melted wax.
ReplyDeleteI have done both freezer and oven - freezer is fast and very easy! I'd recommend this way!!
ReplyDeleteIf it is an odd shape that won't fit through the top even when frozen (like a canning jar) then I'd use the oven method.
I have a steamer that I use and it works great. Just hold to steam and it remelts the wax and just wipe it up with paper towel.
